| Tasting Notes: | 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot Bright and vibrant with red fruit aromas and flavors of cherry, raspberry and cranberry, this complex wine echoes its origins with a faint breeze of sea salt and subtle herbal notes of bay, tarragon and mint. Tannins are silky and fine-grained. A Carneros Cabernet that shows all the vivid expression and elegance of a fine red grown in cool-climate condition |
| Vineyard Notes: | The Los Carneros American Viticultural Area (AVA), with its cool winds and evening fog, is more famous for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir than for Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine, however, shows that certain select sites also yield stellar Cabernets. Los Carneros spans the southernmost part of Napa and Sonoma Valleys closest to San Francisco Bay. Our Carneros Cabernet Sauvignon spotlights fruit from a hillside vineyard in the warmer, northern part of Carneros within the boundaries of Napa Valley. Here, the Cabernet vines, planted in the 1970s on a southwest-facing slope, have ideal exposure for developing ripe, rich flavors. |
