| Vineyard Notes: | Robert Mondavi’s Huichica Hills Vineyard lies in the Los Carneros American Viticultural Area (AVA) at the southern end of Napa and Sonoma Valleys. The recipient of numerous environmental awards, this vineyard uses earth-friendly, state-of-the-art viticultural practices, including intensive clonal research, vertical trellising, close spacing and integrated pest management. We selected the grapes from Pinot Noir vines on the slopes of the north hills, where lower vigor soils yield small clusters. For complexity of flavors, we have planted the site to four Dijon clones – 114, 115, 667 and 777 – and a Swan selection of Pinot Noir. |
